About Listings

• Spam-free Email. You can ensure email addresses in your Listing are spam free without using paid services like the annoying challenge/response technique by obtaining free email accounts at Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc like smith3141@gmail.com and not displaying these addresses in public. I've found Google email accounts to be remarkably free of spam. Selecting an address that doesn't appear in a dictionary like "smith3141" makes it difficult for spammers to harvest your address using a "dictionary attack" on Google's or other email servers.
  • You can even use your Listing's email addresses on your website by linking to SMARTERyellowpages.com. For example, the form that sends messages to the email addresses in The Readiness Operation's Listing is here: http://www.smarteryellowpages.com/email/index.cfm/or.31927.htm. Click on this link to see how the form looks. Note that Listing email addresses are not displayed to the public. The URL link from your website to the form that sends visitor messages to your Listing's email addresses will be like "http://www.smarteryellowpages.com/email/index.cfm/or.xyz.htm" where "xyz" is your Listing's numerical ID. Obtain your URL link by displaying your Listing, clicking on the email link, and copying the URL in the address bar. Use this URL link on your website. Associate it with call to action text such as "Click here to email us 24/7. We'll respond within 24 hours."
  • Your Listing email addresses could start receiving spam (for example, as a result of your address becoming public when you reply to a visitor and display your Listing's email address to them). You can then always change your Listing's email addresses with no loss of visitors' ability to communicate with you from your website or Listing.
• New Contacts 1. Visitors who don't know your firm exists or even the yellow page categories your Listing appears under will still find you with our search engine when you have an Ad that describes services or products they are searching for. • New Contacts 2. Website & email links motivate visitors to contact you with "one-click" 24/7
• New Contacts 3. Visitors can send their email to your fax machine with one click 24/7 (no computer, or Internet or email account is needed to receive it). Your 500 word Ad can serve as a basic website (the recommended norm is a max of 250 words per web page). This means you can have a free Internet web presence and receive Internet-generated inquiries with your existing fax machine (you don't need a computer, Internet account, email address, etc). Even if you have a website, you can use your Listing as a web page for special purposes. (For a small fee, your Listing can even have an address like www.MyDomain.com.)
• Nice Ad. You can include HTML and graphics/photos in your Ad (graphics hosted on your remote server).
• More Exposure 1. Google & other search engines find & index your Listing.
• More Exposure 2. Add your Listing under as many yellow page categories as are appropriate for your service or product offerings.

• Focus. Your Listing's on a website dedicated to promoting Bay Area biz/orgs.
• Stats 1. You know exactly how many times someone viewed your Listing ("hit count"). See the number in parens, ( ), after the firm name in your Listing.
• Stats 2. I identify the 200 Most Popular Yellow Page Categories. "Most popular" is defined as the category that was viewed most often.
• Stats 3. Site statistics are public. We're averaging 100,000 visitors a month. Click here to see detailed site statistics.
• Maps. Your Listing includes a link to a Yahoo! map to your location.
• Service. I typically add/update your Listing overnight or sooner.
• NO popups/popunders to annoy/distract visitors!!!
• Privacy. I will not share, sell, give your info with anyone.
