| Bay Valley Construction started in a tiny office at the Freitas residence on Cherry Street in Newark in 1982 with 4 employees. Luis Freitas’ main goal from the beginning was to provide customers with high quality work in a safe and clean environment. In 1985 Bay Valley moved to a tiny shop on Thornton Avenue in Newark. Soon after, Bay Valley reached its height in employees with a total of 37 workers. Unhappy with the way work had moved more toward a quantity over quality view, Luis decided to restructure the company. Bay Valley was moved to Yale Way in Fremont in 1988. With Bay Valley back on track providing quality over quantity, a disastrous fire in 1991 forced a move to its current location on Central Avenue in Newark.
