| Bar review course and private bar exam tutors for students preparing for the essay and PT portions of the California, Nevada, Arizona and New York bar exams. All staff members are former bar exam graders. The Bar Code was founded by former California Bar Exam Grader and Adjunct Law Professor, Whitney Roberts. It began in late 2003 as a private tutorial program exclusively for repeat-takers of the California Bar Exam. Today, The Bar Code offers workshops, small classes, individualized tutorials and publications designed for first-time, repeat and out-of-state takers of the California, Arizona, Nevada and New York Bar Exams. Each year, The Bar Code donates five writing program scholarships to students in the Sacramento area unable to pay for bar review services. In 2006, the scholarships were awarded to local students committed to using their law degree for public service. In 2007, the scholarships were donated to the Sacramento, California affiliate of the Wiley Manuel Bar Association, the oldest and largest African American bar association.
