| Although all of our teachers have been influenced and/or trained in the Iyengar style of yoga, each teacher's development may reflect influences of other traditions as well.
Level 1 - 3 A mixed level class for beginners and intermediate students. Level 2 - 4 A class for continuing and intermediate students. Inverted and more advanced poses are practiced. Gentle/Restorative A gentle class with focus on supported postures that help to release tightness and tension held in the body. Gentle Yoga Barbara Voinar will offer a soothing practice for all ages and body types. Movements that help stretch and open more spaciousness, enhance attention by refining our sense of balance, and deepen relaxation through meditation. Iyengar This system gives attention to anatomical alignments and enables the practitioner to work with the subtleties of body, breath and mind. Kids Yoga A yoga class for kids ages 4-10 years. Parents welcome to participate. Parents and kids can share together as they stretch, strengthen and practice yoga while having fun. Mindfulness Yoga A class which includes mindful stretching, pranayama, and vipassana meditation. Ideal for anyone interested in combining an asana practice with sitting meditation. Pilates This class is for anyone who wants to strengthen and streamline muscles and improve flexibility and alignment. We'll go slowly so that your body has time to experience and integrate the Pilates fundamentals. Prenatal A beginning yoga class for pregnant women who want to increase awareness and health of their bodies. Postnatal A class geared toward restoring the body back to its original strength and tone. Infants are welcome. Vinyasa Flow A vigorous flowing sequence of postures linked together by focused attention on the breath and on proper alignment. Emphasis is on cultivating and sustaining and inner calm throughout the challenging practice. Yoga in Balance A yoga class that incorporates healthy postural alignment and movement patterns based on 35 years of research. Balance realigns your skeleton with gravity, heals or prevents back and joint pain and enables an elegant posture into maturity. Yoga Movement A mixed level class which combines the ease and flow of dance with music and the precision of an Iyengar yoga practice. For all classes, students will need bare feet and an empty stomach. | ||
