| Jorstad Incorporated was formed in 1985 to serve the income tax and financial needs of small to medium sized businesses with specialized expertise in the entertainment, real estate, legal, medical and personal service industries.
Timothy J Jorstad, CPA/MBA began his career in public accounting in 1975 with a large, international public accounting firm, now KPMG. After completing the required two years of auditing experience and becoming certified in 1978, Tim began specializing in the area of income tax law, graduating in 1980 from Golden Gate University with a Masters degree in tax law. Tim has served as a receiver for the Superior Courts of San Francisco, Marin and Mendocino counties. He has qualified as an expert witness and he has testified in excess of fify times in judicial and jury trials on issues concerning business and contract disputes; lost income claims and family law property settlement and support matters. Tim was the executive vice president and director of a large land development and home building company for two years in the early 1980's. He is a founding shareholder and chairman of Business Bancorp (BZBC), a $675 million asset, state chartered bank headquartered in San Rafael, CA. John H. Kirk, Jr., CPA/MBA joined the firm on January 1, 1999 as an income tax specialist. John is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara. John worked as an accountant for Headlands Mortgage in Marin County for three years before joining the audit staff of Price Waterhouse Coopers LLP. John left his employment with Price Waterhouse Coopers as an senior associate to begin his master degree in tax law program at Golden Gate University in San Francisco which he completed in 2000. Radoslav Simeonov, MBA joined the firm on July 1, 2002 as an income tax specialist. Rado is a graduate of University of Denver Graduate School of Taxation in 1996 and Concord College, West Virginia with a degree in Business Administration in Accounting in 1995. Rado worked as an income tax specialist at two local CPA firms as well as working as a senior tax associate of Price Waterhouse Coopers LLP in San Francisco from 1996 through 1998. Rado is fluent in several languages including English, German, Russian and Bulgarian. Robin Anderson, CPCU joined the firm on November 1, 2002 to provide independent investment portfolio evaluations, financial planning, insurance reviews and estate planning reviews. Robin graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC in 1981. She holds the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter Designation as well as Series 7 NASD and Series 63 NASD licenses. Robin worked with Aetna Casualty and Surety Insurance Company from 1981 - 1987 and as a principal with Gallagher Heffernan Insurance Brokers from 1987 - 1997 specializing in property and casualty insurance products. Robin worked as a principal of Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. in San Francisco from 1997 - 2002 serving this firm's high net worth clients. Robin was the lead investment advisor at Bernstein to many of Jorstad Incorporated's clients immediately prior to joining our firm. Gaylene De Bisschop, Tax Specialist, joined the firm in 1989. Gaylene works closely with individual and corporate clients during the preparation of their annual income tax returns. In addition, Gaylene has indepth experience in accounting system set up, financial statement design and review and payroll tax withholding and reporting issues. Deborah J. Jorstad, co-owner and office manager of Jorstad Incorporated, is responsible for all of the firm's internal accounting including client billing, accounts receivable, bill paying and general office administration. She has been with the firm from its inception. Deborah began her career in 1973 with a large, international public accounting firm working in that firm's internal accounting department in charge of client billing. Steven P. Miller, CPA, is an income tax specialist with over twelve years of experience with public accounting firms including Deloitte Touche, BDO Seidman and KPMG Peat Marwick as well as his own firm. Steven is enrolled in Golden Gate University's MBA program in taxation. Steven affiliates with Jorstad Incorporated and works closely with its clients and staff on income tax return preparation, tax research and tax compliance matters.
