Smarter AdWords Editorial Guidelines
Effective advertising communicates a focused message to Prospects for your services or products. First you determine whom you want to reach and select appropriate Yellow Page Categories. Then you need to create Ads that motivate Prospects to Click-thru to your Listing at SMARTERyellowpages.com: This is the purpose of these Guidelines
The foundation of our Guidelines are two simple principles
- Clearly and accurately describe your offerings.
- Emphasize the unique benefits of your offerings.
In cases where only minor changes are required for an Ad to comply with our Editorial Guidelines, we may edit your Ad for you.
- Use clear, direct language and avoid gimmicks.
Use Standard Punctuation
- No repeated and unnecessary punctuation or symbols.
- Your title may not contain an exclamation point.
- Your Ad text may only contain one exclamation point.
Use Standard Capitalization

No Repetition of Words
Use Correct Spelling
Use Proper Grammar
- Your Ad text must be in logical sentence or phrase form and must contain grammatically correct spacing.
- The use of symbols, numbers, or letters must adhere to the true meaning of the symbol.
Keep It Concise

- The three description lines are limited to 35 characters each.
- Your Yellow Page Categories and Ad text must be relevant to your Listing, products, or services.
Write Accurate Ad Text

Target Specific Yellow Page Categories

Adhere to the Content Policy
- We reserve the right to exercise editorial discretion when it comes to the advertising we accept on our site, as noted in our Smarter AdWords Program Terms.
Follow Proper Trademark Usage
- Trademarks are important business assets that can diminish in value if they are not used correctly. As a provider of online yellow pages, The Readiness Operation is not in a position to resolve trademark disputes. Our Terms and Conditions clearly state that those with Listings or Ads are responsible for their content. We encourage Trademark owners to resolve their disputes directly with the owners of the Listing or Ad.
Support Competitive Claims
- If your Ad text contains competitive language regarding other companies, support for this claim must be displayed in the Listing linked to your Ad.
Avoid Superlatives
- If your Ad contains comparative or subjective phrases such as "best", "lowest", or "#1", verification by a third party must be clearly displayed on your Listing.
Support Advertised Prices, Discounts, and Free Offers
- If your Ad includes a price, special discount, or 'free' offer, it must be clearly and accurately displayed on your Listing.
No Unacceptable Phrases
- Your Ad cannot contain universal call-to-action phrases such as "click here," "link here," "visit this link," "this site is," or other similar phrases that could apply to any Ad, regardless of content.
- Use a call-to-action unique to the service or product you provide.
- The limited text space should be used for concise, informative language that sets you apart from your competition.
No Inappropriate Language
- Your Ad cannot contain offensive or inappropriate language.
Only Family Safe Ad & Listing Content - No Adult Sexual Content
- Your URLs must work and accurately reflect your Ad and Listing, and link to your Listing.
