Ad Ad content is in the format of 25 characters for the title, 35 characters each for three text lines, and 100 characters for the URL to your SMARTERyellowpages.com Listing. Fewer characters may fit on the line if the text line contains too many wide characters like capital letters, lower case 'm' and 'w', and certain punctuation marks like '@', '&' and '%'.
We display Ads on Yellow Page Category Pages at the right-hand side of the page, one Ad above another. Yellow Page Categories you select for your Ads and Listings must be relevant to your service or product offerings. You must have a Listing under each Yellow Page Category whose Yellow Page Category Page you want to display an Ad on.
Use Smarter AdWords Ads to motivate Prospects to Click-thru to your SMARTERyellowpages.com Listing. Use your Listing's Ad to further interest Prospects in you and your offerings and make it easy for them to contact you.
Campaign We call your Smarter AdWords advertising program a Campaign. A Campaign consists of Ads. Create as many different Ads in a Campaign as you like. We rotate them automatically. Campaign Statistics enable you to determine which Ads perform best and suppress the others. You budget each Campaign separately. You may create multiple Campaigns under a single Account. For example, a firm might emphasize different offerings in each Campaign, and an advertising agent for several clients must establish a separate Campaign for each client. But multiple Ads from the same or affiliated company or person may not appear on the same Yellow Page Category Page.
Campaign Balance Your Campaign Balance must be positive for us to run your Ads. We set your initial Campaign Balance equal to a free $10 when you create your Campaign. As time passes we deduct the cost of Ad Impressions and add your payments. See How do I add money to my campaign? for details.
Campaign Statistics After you Log In to your Account you have access to Campaign Statistics such as the Position your Ads were shown in, how many Impressions for each Ad, Click-thru rates for each Ad, cost per Click-thru, and more. This helps you manage your Campaign.
Click-thru (Rate) Click-thru rate is the number of clicks on your Ad's URL through to your Listing divided by the number of Impressions
Family Safe Your Ads and Listings must be Family Safe, which means they do not contain adult themes like gambling or pornographic content.
Impression Each time we display a page with your Ad, it counts as one Impression for that Ad. Impression fees are discussed here: How will I be charged for my advertising campaign?
Listing & Listing Ad A Listing contains a firm's name, contact name, street address, phone number, fax number, website, email, and up to 500 words of copy. We call the copy in a Listing a Listing Ad. Listing Ads are displayed on the same page as the Listing. Smarter AdWords Ads are displayed on Yellow Page Category Pages. More information about Listings here. SMARTERyellowpages.com currently contains 156317 Listings. Listings are free to San Francisco Bay Area Firms only. Smarter AdWords Ads are available to San Francisco Bay Area firms only.
Ad Position We display Ads on Yellow Page Category Pages at the right-hand side of the page, one Ad above another. We display at most 10 Ads. The top Ad is in Position 1, the next Ad is in Position 2, and so forth.

When your Campaign Balance falls below the Target Notification Threshold you set for your Campaign this triggers an email from us notifying you that your Campaign Balance has fallen to your target amount. You can use your notification email in many ways, including:
- You can use your Target Notification Threshold as a Campaign Spending Limit, log into your Account and suspend your Campaign. You might do this to keep to a monthly budget.
- You can use it as an automatic advisory of how fast your Campaign Balance is falling, log into your Account and reduce your Target Notification Threshold to the next Campaign Balance level you wish to be advised about. (You can always log into your Account and get an up-to-date accounting of your Campaign Balance, but this is not automatic.)

Yellow Page Categories SMARTERyellowpages.com is structured like printed yellow pages in that we place a firm's Listing under headings like Attorneys, CPAs, etc. SMARTERyellowpages.com currently has 3595 such headings, which we call Yellow Page Categories. To help Prospects find Yellow Page Categories in different ways SMARTERyellowpages.com also has over 3,000 additional Yellow Page Categories that contain sub-categories but do not contain Listings. Yellow Page Category Pages List the name, city, and other attributes of firms that have a Listing in a specific Yellow Page Category, for example, CPAs. Yellow Page Category Page Impression Each time a Yellow Page Category Page is displayed to a Prospect it is a Yellow Page Category Page Impression. Since Yellow Page Category Pages display Ads the number of Yellow Page Category Page Impressions can be used to estimate the number of Ad Impressions, which can be used to estimate the cost of Ads. The bottom of each Yellow Page Category Page includes the number of Yellow Page Category Page Impression in the last 30 days (for that Category).
